Ps.131- Comme un nourisson

The result of the Lord's forgiveness and redemption to us is found in psalm 131, and that is, that of a saint in His worship of the Lord, for the great things that He has done, in His extending forgiveness to the sinner and in His full redemption towards him, resulting in his having a humbled heart (my heart is not proud) and a calm and quieted soul before Him (v. 2a). ...

"O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor are my eyes haughty; (v. 1a) ... Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. (v. 2) ...

In our experience of believing in Christ as our Savior and in receiving His full salvation for us, the result should be that we become humble and calm in Him, quieted and weaned from all earthly cares and concerns but for the Lord, so that we can bring hope in God to others. This should be the enjoyment, experience and the expression of all of God's people, His forgiven and redeemed. (v. 3) ...

Résumé du psaume :  Ces Psaumes partent de la souffrance extérieure sous l’oppression de l’ennemi, pour aboutir à la pleine restauration de l’âme. La gradation se trouve ici dans les exercices de conscience. Enfin l’âme est sevrée pour apprécier toujours davantage l’amour du Père (Ps. 131).
